The Kirazlı Mine Gold Project Location

The Kirazlı Gold Mine Project is not located in the Kaz Mountains. It is located 40 km away from the Kaz Dağları National Park. The project site is located in Kirazlı village, on the skirts of Balaban Hill. Its location is within the borders of the Biga Mountains.

The Republic of Turkey prohibits mining in National Parks, Natural Preserves, Archeological Sites and Wildlife Protection Areas. It is also prohibited in Specially Protected Environment Forests, Gene Protection Areas, Short and Medium distance water basins protection areas.


Doğu Biga’s projects are not located in these areas. False claims have been communicated about location of the Kirazlı Gold Project, claiming that it is located in Kaz Mountains.

In 2020, a government report was published confirming that the project is not located in the Kaz Mountains, which was completed by an official in the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources.
